Russian language courses for foreigners

When we speak our native language, we don’t even think how difficult it can be for foreigners. It’s not surprising that it is one of the most complicated and at the same time one of the most widely spoken languages in Europe both in terms of the number of speakers and geographically. Besides that we should not forget that Russian is an actively developing language.

Let’s try to explain the rules of the Russian language with the help of a simple kitchen table. There is a table in front of us. There is a glass and a fork on the table. What are they doing? The glass is standing, and the fork is lying. If we stick the fork into the countertop, the fork will be standing. Thus, vertical objects stand and horizontal lie? Add a plate and a pan to the table. They are horizontal, but are still standing on the table. Now put the plate in the pan. It lies there but it used to stand on the table. Maybe only the items which are ready to use stand? No, the fork was actually ready when it was lying.

A lot of examples can be given so it’s not surprising that foreigners find our language difficult and compare it with Chinese. Even not every Russian or Belarusian can explain what lies and what stands. Why do the letters "ь" and "ъ" not have their own sounds, and why are they used? Why is the verb "to be" not used in the present tense, but in the future and the past it is? Now imagine how Russian seems to those people who are going to learn it?

Nevertheless, the study of the Russian language for foreigners will be feasible and enjoyable if experts take the case. “Soeasy” Cultural and Educational Center experienced teachers, who are proficient in several foreign languages, will find it easier not only to explain the rules of the Russian language, but also to help remember the exceptions. Since linguists understand how Russian for foreigners seems to be from outside. Classes are held mainly in English, but students’ wishes are also taken into account. For a clearer and better understanding of the language, teachers explain some rules in the students' native language.

Methods of teaching

Russian language courses at the “Soeasy” Center are aimed at developing students' communication skills, with much attention being paid to both grammar and practical language skills.

Modern literature is used as the main educational material, as well as a specially prepared author's course by our teacher.

The organizers of the Russian language courses conduct classes with native speakers, which enable students to plunge into live communication and overcome all the fears in the early stages of learning. Native speakers help overcome the language barrier and introduce students to the culture, traditions and history of their country.

Not only new learners but also those who already speak that language are recruited.

The program of studying Russian in Minsk

The program was developed on the basis of the Russian state system of certification levels of TRKI (Testing in Russian as a foreign language). The Russian language is divided into 6 levels (A1 - Elementary, A2 - Basic, B1 - Medium (TRKI-1), B2 - Sufficiently high (TRKI-2), C1 - High (TRKI-3), C2 - Fluent (TRKI- 4)). With our help you can learn a language from level A0 to level B2. Studying one level in the Russian language under an accelerated program takes from 3 to 5 months. It should be remembered that the pace of language learning depends not only on well-developed lessons, but also on the students’ interest themselves. The number of people in a group and the nationality of students play an important role in studying Russian. Therefore, the quality and pace of learning the language will depend not only on the assignments, but also on your desire, doing all the exercises at home and on the general academic performance of the group.

After finishing each level, students should successfully pass an exam on materials of the mastered level (score at least 70 points out of 100). In case of not passing the exam, students have an opportunity to retake it.

The test consists of the written part (lexical-grammatical test) and the oral part (speaking on one of the learnt lexical topics, as well as conversations with a native speaker).

According to the Part 9 in Article 99 of the Republic of Belarus  Education Code with the round seal of the educational institution, the successful passing of the exam is confirmed by a document and course completion certificate.
